Russia gets ready for USA's interference in 2018 presidential election

Attempts to interfere in Russia's internal affairs continue, and this process is not going to fade in light of the upcoming presidential election in Russia in March of 2018.

Officials with the Federation Council Commission for the Protection of State Sovereignty concluded during a meeting on Monday that attempts to interfere in Russia's internal affairs were noticeable during the regional elections in September of this year, even though they did not show much influence on the outcome of the elections.

Russia Threatens Retaliatory Restrictions on US Media Outlets

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova is warning that Russia is considering applying restrictions to certain US media outlets in retaliation for recent US measures taken against Russia’s RT news channel.

Last month, the US Justice Department ordered RT to register as a “foreign agent,” which requires them to make a massive number of disclosures. The Foreign Agent Registration Act was meant to target foreign lobbyists and politicians, and had virtually never been used against journalists before.

US lawmakers had been hyping RT as a “propaganda” network, complaining about their narrative being dissimilar on key issues from domestic US media. Yet other nations’ media across the world often differs with US media priorities, and the moves against RT are unheard of.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I link to the English-edition of rt.com and sputniknews.com on a nearly daily basis.

I find the reporting and analysis of world events in these blogs rather calm; most generally level-headed, and non-warmongering, which one can certainly not say about the presstitutes and whorespondents in the corporate media of this country, faithfully regurgitating government propaganda.

Red Scare redux? US imposes World War II-era ‘foreign agents’ designation on Russia media

The Soviet-era McCarthyism that swept America in the mid-20th century was mere child's play compared to the Russophobic hysteria now running amok in the land, where Russian media is even being required to identify itself with a Nazi-era designation.

The most disturbing aspect about the spectacular crash and burn of US-Russia relations in the last year is not necessarily the lightning speed with which it occurred, but that it was a deliberate, premeditated act of political violence that was absolutely avoidable.

The all-out anti-Russia campaign arrived with such swift, unwarranted ferocity that it would have made the late US Senator Joseph McCarthy - whose name is practically synonymous with witch hunts - sit up and take note. And just when you think we've hit rock bottom in the bilateral relationship, a trap door swings open below your feet, revealing yet another precipitous drop.

RUSSIA PILES UP GOLD RESERVES IN CONTINUED PUSH AWAY FROM US DOLLAR

The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) has more than doubled the pace of gold purchases over the past decade, adding more than 1,250 tons to its gold reserves according to World Gold Council data.

In the second quarter alone, it accounted for 38 percent of all gold purchased by central banks. The gold rush has allowed the CBR to continue piling its reserves while abstaining from purchases of foreign currency (particularly, the US dollar) for more than two years.

“The sixth largest gold reserves in the world, they constitute 17 percent of the nation’s wealth,” said the report. It added that if buying continues at a similar pace, the full year increase in 2017 “could closely match” the 200 tons purchased annually in 2015 and 2016.

Over 100,000 People Evacuated in Moscow Over False Bomb Explosion Warnings

A wave of anonymous calls over bomb threats in education facilities, shopping centers and administrative buildings has led to a mass evacuation in Moscow on Friday.

More than 100,000 people were evacuated in the Russian capital over false warnings of explosive devices.

The warnings had not been confirmed, but the police had to evacuate Moscow residents due to security reasons.

"More than 130 reports of explosion threats have been received from law enforcement agencies since the beginning of the day, about 100,000 people have been evacuated from all buildings," a source said on condition of anonymity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This appears to be highly coordinated; but by whom, and for what purpose?!? The destabilization of Russia, with a thought toward "regime change" in Moscow?!?

Wars can be psycological, as well as physical. If 100,000 people are evacuated on false threats of bombings, it will be very hard for those people to really trust that the Russian government can actually protect them in a real emergency.

Was this the purpose?!? To cause the Russian people to lose trust in their government, and very specifically, Vladimir Putin?!? Only time will tell.

Kaspersky Lab Denies WSJ Allegations of Hacking NSA

Consistently at or near the top of security software maker rankings, Russian-based Kaspersky Lab continues to attract suspicion, based on little to no evidence, of being a “threat” to US national security.

This week, the allegations came out of the Wall Street Journal, which claimed that an NSA contractor who ran Kaspersky antivirus on his computer was hacked, and immediately concluded that Kaspersky hacked him to get NSA data for the Russian government.

Kaspersky founder Eugene Kaspersky mocked the claim as “like the script of a C movie.” He offered an alternate explanation for the data loss, that the NSA tools on the computer were correctly identified as new forms of malware by Kaspersky’s software.

The supposition that being a security software company and Russia-based makes them tantamount to Russian spies has been enough of an excuse for US officials to increasingly demonize the company, despite the lack of real evidence of wrongdoing, let alone culpability.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What the Wall Street Jerks' article provided was absolutely no tangible proof of their allegations whatsoever, and there was utterly no sourcing to these allegations.

Mike and I have used Kaspersky security products, and consider them excellent; but of course, we're not the ones desperately trying to demonize Russia toward the goal of starting a shooting war against it!!

Trump Threatens as Iran Says Missile Program Not Up for Negotiation

Following up on yesterday’s report that President Trump is going to decertify the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran on the grounds it is “not in America’s interests,” he is stepping up threats against Iran, promising a “broad strategy” to punish Iran for all of its bad behavior.

Decertification would lead to a vote in Congress, which Trump appears to believe will lead to the US withdrawing from the P5+1. This isn’t going to take place until next week, however, which has fueled speculation Iran might be coerced into making new concessions to placate him.

Iran, however, says that this is not the case. Noting that they’re complying with the nuclear deal as it is, Iran has denied reports they’d be willing to negotiate on their conventional missile program, saying they believe demands for more concessions are a violation of the UN Security Council resolution on the nuclear deal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I mentioned yesterday, a US decertification of the P5+1 deal, would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid decision the Trump administration could make, at this point.

Of course, with President Whisperer, Israel's Benyamin Netanyahu constantly cheerleading for "regime change" in Tehran, the purpose of the decertification is to leave the US open to attempt a regime change by force.

I would like to strongly caution President Trump that Israel fully expects the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika to do this for him, but primarily at the costs of American blood and American money.

And Mr. President, I would like to politely remind you that Russian diplomats and chief military officers have consistently stated, that if Iran is attacked, Russia will come to its aid miilitarily.

Do you, sir, really want a war with Russia over regime change in Tehran?!?

I would suggest, sir, that if Mattis, McMaster and Kelly are being painfully honest with you, they will urge extreme caution, and tell you to your face that this is one hell of a lousy option, no matter how much Netanyahu screams at you on the phone that you MUST do it, to destroy its existential enemy, Iran.

I would also like to politely remind you, that Iran has not initiated a war in over 200 years.

Holy Tasteless! New Batman Video Game Depicts Murdered Russian Diplomat’s Body

The newest video game from developer Telltale Games’ series “Batman: The Enemy Within” features a photo of the corpse of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov, who was assassinated in December 2016.

Karlov, a veteran diplomat who at one point served as the director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department of Consular Affairs (which provides passport and visa services), was killed during a scheduled speech at an art exhibition celebrating Turkish-Russian friendship. He was shot in the back by Mevlüt Mert Alt?nta?, a Turkish police officer who yelled "Allahu Akbar" and "Do not forget Aleppo, do not forget Syria" before being gunned down himself by Turkish security forces.

Footage and photos of Altintas standing over Karlov's body, shouting and brandishing his pistol, widely circulated online. One picture, taken by Hasam Kilic, seems to have found its way into an unexpected place: a crime scene being investigated by Batman in a video game.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Military/intelligence assets work hand in hand with the video/computer game industry every day.

So I have to wonder if the founders of this company, Dan Connors, Kevin Bruner and Troy Molander, are, perhaps, covert CIA/US military assets, who understand that if you are going to demonize a country (Let's say, for the sake of explanation, Russia) to your population, particularly to the young people who will be ultimately drafted to fight that country, you start with the young men, who are the primary players of computer games, to demonize that country which is ultimately going to be the recipient of an American military attack.

This has been rather recently released, so I wonder about the timing of an actual war with Russia, vis a vis the release of this video game, and how the owners of Telltale bet on the release of this game to continue the demonization in which the corporate presstitutes are collaborating so cheerfully.

Iran, Iraq, And Turkey Unite To Block Kurdish Oil Exports

Iraq, Iran, and Turkey are taking a unified stance against Kurdistan’s oil sector after the region elected to seek independence from Baghdad in a referendum in September, according to a new report by Rudaw.

“In the case of northern Iraq; Iran, Iraq and Turkey will form a tripartite mechanism and will decide on shutting down the oil,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said after a meeting with leaders from the other two nations on Thursday.

A day before the vote, the Iraqi central government issued a statement calling on “neighboring countries and countries of the world” to stop buying crude oil directly from Kurdistan and only deal with Baghdad.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How, practically, are Iran, Turkey, and Iraq going to do this, without literally blowing up the oil rigs?!?

And please remember: Russia has just signed off on an independent deal with Kurdistan regarding its oil; these countries have better tread very softly on any Russian resolved to see an independent Kurdistan happen.

Russian Hackers Win Again: John Kelly's Personal Cell Allegedly "Compromised" For Months

Is John Kelly the latest victim of the now infamous, pesky, yet extremely elusive, 'Russian hackers' that cost Hillary Clinton the 2016 election and are slowly taking over the world? According to Politico, he just might be...

White House officials believe that chief of staff John Kelly’s personal cellphone was compromised, potentially as long ago as December, according to three U.S. government officials.

The discovery raises concerns that hackers or foreign governments may have had access to data on Kelly’s phone while he was secretary of Homeland Security and after he joined the West Wing.

Tech support staff discovered the suspected breach after Kelly turned his phone in to White House tech support this summer complaining that it wasn’t working or updating software properly.

Kelly told the staffers the phone hadn’t been working properly for months, according to the officials.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, let's track the logic; Kelly's personal phone misbehaves for months, and he doesn't have the horse sense to get it checked when it originally stopped working the way it should have?!?

And it is THIS guy who has the ear of the President of the United States?!?

Be afraid, people; be very afraid!!

Venezuela raises possibility of Russian military help to counter US

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Wednesday raised the possibility of getting military support from Russia to boost its defensive capabilities after President Donald Trump threatened to use force against the South American nation.

Speaking at an energy forum in Moscow, Maduro said his administration will discuss increased military cooperation with the Russian government during his visit this week.

“I am sure, even if we do not ask, we will be given even more support to boost Venezuela’s defense capacity and sovereignty," Maduro said.

PUTIN STRIKES AGAIN: RUSSIAN HACKERS REPORTEDLY STOLE NSA DATA ON CYBER DEFENSE

Looks like Russian President Vladimir Putin is back at it.

The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that hackers working for the Russian government have stolen data describing how US intelligence agencies infiltrate foreign computer networks and how they defend against cyberattacks. The data was stolen after a National Security Agency contractor removed the highly classified material and put it on his home computer, according to WSJ’s anonymous sources.

News of the hack, which hasn’t been exposed previously, explains the federal government’s abrupt crackdown on Moscow-based security firms Kaspersky Labs. As WSJ explains, the contractor may have been targeted after hackers identified the files thanks to the contractor’s use of a popular antivirus software created by Kaspersky.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No sourcing?!?

Since, please, did WSJ get so completely sloppy in their "alleged" reporting?!?

And what moronic National Security Agency contractor would have been so completely stupid as to put sensitive material like that on their home computer?!?

Is the major prerequisite necessary to working for the NSA complete, and abysmal technological stupidity?!?

OK, WSJ: either source, and do what is supposed to be your job, or shut the flip up; this is simply more anonymous demonization of Russia, which we all understand is part of the prelude to a shooting war against it.

And to your Editor in Chief, Gerard Baker, a word, please, sir; whatever compensation you are getting, overtly or covertly, from elements of the Deep State in this country, desperate to see this country at war with Russia (and China) to cut off the rise of the ruble and yuan in international trade, it cannot possibly be enough!!

SYRIA - RUSSIA ISSUES THIRD WARNING AGAINST U.S. COOPERATION WITH TERRORISTS

The Syrian Army was on its way across the Euphrates river to liberate the oil- and gas-fields east of Deir Ezzor city. The U.S. countered the move. It sent a small forces of Arab tribal mercenaries who were earlier allied with the Islamic State (ISIS). These proxy forces came from a northern direction and moved through Islamic State held areas without fighting and casualties up to the walls of Deir Ezzor city.

The Syrian army was about to win the race when it started to cross the Euphrates. But it suddenly was surprised by a large al-Qaeda attack in southern Idleb province. That area had been quiet for months. 29 Russian troops who were supervising a deescalation zone there were nearly encircled by al-Qaeda forces. They only escape after an emergency relief operation had cut through al-Qaeda lines. The Russian Ministry of Defense accused the U.S. of having communicated the position of the Russian platoon to al-Qaeda.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears as though the Deep Staters in the Bowels of Power in the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika, have decided that a shooting war against Russia in Syria is a brilliant idea.

SAUDIS ROCK US ALLIANCE, SAY THEY’LL BUY RUSSIA’S TOP PLANE KILLER, S-400

That rumble under your feet you sensed this morning was the earthquake caused by the decision of one of America’s closest allies, Saudis Arabia, to join Turkey in buying Russia’s vaunted S-400 surface to air missile system. The announcement carried extra diplomatic weight as Saudi King Salman was visiting Russia when the Saudis made the announcement. Former NATO and European Command leader, retired Adm. James Stavridis, called the sale “a step backwards in US foreign and defense policy.” Since World War II, when President Roosevelt agreed with King Faisal that we would guarantee Saudi sovereignty in return for access to their oil, the kingdom has been one of our closest allies, notwithstanding the 911 attacks led by Saudi citizens.

Russia, Saudi Arabia Announce Billons In Energy Deals, S-400 Missile System Purchase

Two days ago, when we previewed the first ever visit by a Saudi King to the Russian capital - a move which prompted Bloomberg to call Russian president Putin the "new master of the Middle East" - we pointed out that according to Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, a joint Russian-Saudi fund to invest in the energy sector will be announced during the forthcoming visit of the Saudi King to Moscow, and that the preliminary agreement to establish the $1 billion fund has already been reached.

Fast forward to today when diplomatic history was made on Thursday, when Putin met with the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - the first state visit to Russia by a reigning Saudi monarch - and the launch of a new level of relations between the countries, as well as billions in new energy-focused deals (for more on the strategic implications from the summit, please read this).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Look for a potential follow-on deal for more weapons, to be purchased in the not too distant future from Russia, rather than from the US; in the Syrian theatre of war, these Russian weapons have proven themselves to function as advertised, in real-time combat.

One has to wonder; just how soon will Saudi Arabia completely leave the geopolitical orbit of the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika, because it has found better deals, and ultimately better support, elsewhere?!?

MADURO VISITS PUTIN, PROPOSES GLOBAL OIL TRADE IN RUBLES, YUAN

Three weeks after the US imposed financial sanctions on Venezuela in an effort to cripple its economy and choke the Maduro regime, which in turn prompted Caracas to announce it would no longer receive or send payments in dollars, and that those who wished to trade Venezuelan crude would have to do so in Chinese Yuan, today during an energy summit held in Moscow, Venezuela's president Nicolas Maduro proposed to expand his own personal blockade of the US, by proposing that all oil producing countries discuss creating a currency basket for trading crude and refined products. One which is no longer reliant on the (petro)dollar.

“Developing a new mechanism of controlling the oil market is necessary,” Maduro said on Wednesday at the Russian Energy Forum, being held in Moscow this week.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Nicholas Maduro has just painted a bullseye on his back, gotten on his knees, and begged for a decap strike, courtesy of the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika.

How they would pull this off, I do not know; however, I would be reasonably certain that those Deep Staters in the Bowels of Power in this country are weighing numerous military options to "restore Venezuelan Democracy to the Venezeulan people" (AKA: supporting a Western-centric coup here, so that Venezuela's oil is controlled only by US-centric politicians and only be sold for US dollars.)

Moscow: US Staging Fatal Provocations Against Russian Personnel in Syria

"The US-led forces’ activities in Syria cause many questions. In some cases these forces mounts allegedly accidental strikes against the Syrian Armed Forces, after which the Islamic State [Daesh terrorist group] counterattacks, in other cases they inspire other terrorists to attack strategic locations over which official Damascus has restored its legitimate authority, or stage fatal provocations against our military personnel. I would also mention numerous ‘accidental’ strikes against civilian infrastructure that have taken hundreds of civilian lives," he told the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated that the recent death of a Russian Lt. Gen. Valery Asapov, who headed a group of Russian military advisers in Syria during a mortar attack by terrorists, is the price that Russia paid for the duplicity of the United States in actions aimed at resolving the crisis in the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sergei Lavrov is not the kind of guy who just flaps his gums to hear himself speak; if he is making these allegations, the man is absolutely sure of his evidence.

So one has to wonder: is the US looking to start a shooting war with Russia over Syria?!?

Are You Ready To Die? Paul Craig Roberts on the US’s plan for you.

Russia is not going to be hung like Saddam Hussein or murdered like Gaddafi. I have written many times that provoking nuclear powers such as Russia and China is the most extreme form of recklessness and irresponsibility. The crazed morons in Washington are risking the life of the planet. The presstitutes are worse than the whores that they are. They never question the path to war; they only amplify it. Washington’s craven, cowardly, moronic vassal states in UK, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, and the rest of the EU/NATO idiots are, by their cooperation with Washington, begging for their own destruction. Nowhere in the West is there a sign of intelligence. Will Washington follow Adolf Hitler’s folly and march into Russia?

Oct 03 10:29

Are You Ready to Die?

In other words, the United States no longer has a media. It has a propaganda ministry for the military/security complex, the neoconservatives, and the Israel Lobby. And the idiot Americans sit in front of the TV and absorb the propaganda, and they read the New York Times and think that they are sophisticated and in the know.

If you were the Russian government, would you conclude that your country was the next to be attacked militarily by Washington? If you were the Russian government, you would know that Washington/NATO cannot possibly attack Russia except by surprise nuclear strike. Knowing this, if you were the Russian government, would you sit there and wait on the strike? Imagine yourself the Russian government listening day in, day out, to endless wild improbable charges against Russia. What can Russia possibly conclude other than this is preparation of Western peoples for a nuclear attack on Russia?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, a word, here; WRH and you are precisely on the same page on this issue, so please don't use that damned statement "Nowhere in the West is there a sign of intelligence"; a lot of the independent media, like us, are deeply concerned about what seems to be unfolding at the national and international level, and sharing this information with the public, the best we can can.

Of course, for these efforts we are shunned, laughed at, and having to deal with 10 to 30 attacks against Mike's server, daily.

The cold, hard reality is that we live in an unjust, corrupted (alleged) civilisation: so the telling of truth is always associated with paying a heavy price for doing so.

Trust me, Dr. Roberts, we understand this, because we live with paying that price... on a daily basis.

New York Army National Guard soldiers head to Ukraine for training mission

More than 200 soldiers from the New York Army National Guard departed Monday for a nine-month mission to Ukraine.

The soldiers — most of whom are from 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry Regiment, stationed at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station in Niagara Falls, New York — will join the Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine, according to a press release from the New York Division of Military and Naval Affairs.

Also deploying with the group are soldiers from the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team headquarters and other National Guard units from across New York.

The training group teaches tactics and staff work to five Ukrainian army battalions at the International Peacekeeping and Security Center, near Yavoriv, Ukraine. They are joining troops from Canada, Denmark, Lithuania, Poland and the United Kingdom on the training mission.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How many troops, actually, from these countries, plus US troops, are actually in Ukraine at this time?!?

And what, precisely, are these Western trainers training the Ukrainian Army to do?!? Whatever the flowery language used by Col. Dennis Deeley, this appears to be about one thing, and one thing only; Ukraine's and NATO's military ultimately engaging Russia in war, as a US proxy.

With advanced aerodynamic design, composite materials and a new generation high bypass ratio turbofan engine, all the performance indicators of the wide-body aircraft will be largely improved, contributing to a lower direct operating cost than similar models.

The U.S. and Russia Plan To “Build” A Moon Base Together

By Aaron Kesel

The two nations that have been seen as bitter rivals since the Cold War and especially after the American 2016 election which Russia was accused without evidence of hacking are now moving to build a moon base together according to NASA.

NASA and the Russian space agency Roscosmos have announced a new partnership for human exploration of the moon and deep space. Both agencies signed a joint statement on the collaborative effort. It all stems from NASA’s “deep-space gateway” concept, a mission architecture designed to send astronauts into lunar orbit by 2020 (the statement sets a mid-2020s goal for beginning the project.)...

The explosion in Kalinovsky broke the spine of Ukrainian artillery

A late-night fire broke out in the tanker of the Ukrainian Army, about 20 kilometers away from the city of Vinica with 370,000 inhabitants. Because of the force of explosion, authorities have ordered the closure of the airspace within 50 kilometers and the evacuation of the local population. Among the first, evacuated locals from the nearby Kalinovka, and later all nearby villages. A total of about 30,000 people were evacuated.

According to the first reports, there were 188,000 tons of ammunition in Kalilnovki's ammunition depot . Later figures ranged from 80,000 to 300,000 tonnes, depending on the sources.

Prime Minister Vladimir Grosman said after the visit he was "a foreign factor" for the war, referring to the sabotage planned and carried out by the Russian services.

Yet Another Major Russia Story Falls Apart. Is Skepticism Permissible Yet?

LAST FRIDAY, most major media outlets touted a major story about Russian attempts to hack into U.S. voting systems, based exclusively on claims made by the Department of Homeland Security. “Russians attempted to hack elections systems in 21 states in the run-up to last year’s presidential election, officials said Friday,” began the USA Today story, similar to how most other outlets presented this extraordinary claim.

So what was wrong with this story? Just one small thing: it was false. The story began to fall apart yesterday when Associated Press reported that Wisconsin – one of the states included in the original report that, for obvious reasons, caused the most excitement – did not, in fact, have its election systems targeted by Russian hackers:

Sometimes stories end up debunked. There’s nothing particularly shocking about that. If this were an isolated incident, one could chalk it up to basic human error that has no broader meaning.

The genuine history of World War II has fallen prey to numerous falsifications aimed at downplaying and erasing the predominate role of the Red Army in destroying Nazi Germany from people's memories, Michael Jabara Carley, a professor of history at the Université de Montréal and the author of "Silent Conflict: A Hidden History of Early Soviet-Western Relations," told Sputnik.

America Is Getting Outclassed by Russian Electronic Warfare

Russian daily Svobodnaya Pressa published an analysis of Russian EW capabilities as they stand today, with a possible nod towards the “Zapad-2017” military exercise and NATO’s resulting anxiety. The paper notes that Russia's qualitative EW superiority vis-a-vis the West is also quantitative—during the past decade, more than a dozen systems underwent state trials and evaluations: “Borisoglebsk-2,” “Algurit,” “Rtut-BM,” “Infauna,” “Krasuha-4,” “Moskva-1,” “Parodist,” “Lorandit-M,” “Leer-3,” “Lesochek,” “Less,” “Magnyi-REB,” “Pole-21,” “Hibini” and “Vitebsk.” Among these are systems designed for localized short-range action; those that protect aircraft, ships and soldiers in a given area of operations; along with systems that neutralize explosive detonators in IEDs and other devices.

Russia rejects US claim on Iran, IAEA

Back in August, US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley attempted to convince the IAEA to request access to Iranian military sites, in what was generally viewed as an attempt to undermine a multilateral nuclear deal with Iran, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

That push failed when the IAEA said Iran was in full compliance with the deal and the agency had no reason to request access to Iranian military sites.

Then, the US began invoking Section T of an annex to the JCPOA to justify a push for access to Iranian military sites. Section T bans any development activity on nuclear weapons technology and restricts dual-use items that could be used to research warhead design but gives no jurisdiction to the IAEA on the matter.

Russia, which is a party to the deal, has thus been referring to the text of Section T to remind the US that the IAEA has no authority for inspections under that particular provision.

Russia Blames ‘Two-Faced’ US for Killing General in Syria—Moscow Will View it As Declaration of War

Lieutenant-General Valery Asapov, of the Russian armed forces, was killed after coming under shelling from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) militants near Deir ez-Zor, the Russian Defense Ministry has announced.

Immediately after his death, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the “two-faced policy” of the United States was to blame for the death of Russian Lieutenant-General Valery Asapov in Syria, the RIA news agency quoted him as saying.

Asapov, commander of the 5th Army in Russia’s Eastern Military District, one of the four strategic commands in the Russian Armed Forces, is the highest-ranking Russian officer to be killed in the Syrian campaign.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please look at the uptick in the demonization of both Russia and Syria lately; we are being groomed for against Russia and Syria over the newly "independent" Kurdistan, the referendum for that status having been voted on this last Monday.

The longer the American troops remain on the ground here in Syria, the more certain will be a military clash

Julian Assange Says He Will Provide Evidence Russia Narrative Is False in Exchange for Pardon

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has offered to provide evidence that the Russian collusion narrative is false in exchange for a pardon from President Trump.

The president, apparently, has not yet gotten the message. On Saturday, President Trump told reporters that he has "never heard" of Assange's offer to make a deal.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) told The Daily Caller that Trump is being blocked from knowing about the potential deal with Assange. “I think the president’s answer indicates that there is a wall around him that is being created by people who do not want to expose this fraud that there was collusion between our intelligence community and the leaders of the Democratic Party,” Rohrabacher said.

Schauble Out as German FinMin Paves the Way for Lifting Russian Sanctions

The news hit the wire this morning that the first casualty of Sunday’s German elections is Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble. Coalition talks between Chancellor Angela Merkel and both the Free Democrats (FDP) and the Greens led to this.

Merkel’s weak showing forced this change. Christian Lidner, head of the FDP, has been angling for the finance minister job during this entire election season. He has also, along with former SDP head and current Finance Minister Sigmar Gabriel, been an outspoken advocate of normalization of relations with Russia.

“We have to get out of the dead-end sitution,” Lindner told the Funke Mediengruppe newspaper chain. “To break a taboo, I fear that we must see the Crimea as a permanent provisional arrangement, at least for now.”

Mattis: Russia, Iran arming Taliban; More missile-defense money; How much do you pay for war?; 3 questions about America’s next missile sub; and just a bit more…

SecDef Mattis says Russia and Iran are arming the Taliban in Afghanistan, The Wall Street Journal reported traveling with Mattis to Kabul on Wednesday.

Mattis: “Those two countries have suffered losses to terrorism, so I think it would be extremely unwise if they think they can somehow support terrorism in another country and not have it come back to haunt them.”

How, exactly? The Journal: “Military officials said weaponry and support from the Russians and Iranians serve to strengthen the Taliban, but also bestow a sense of legitimacy. ‘That’s a lot more dangerous right now than what they’re providing in terms of materiel,’ a military official said.”

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov calls the allegation “a campaign based on falsehoods.”

Putin Imprisons 130 US Antifa Activists On ‘Terror Charges’ After Violent Riot

130 mostly American Antifa activists have been arrested in Moscow, Russia after violent rioting, provoked by “violent foreign black-clad thugs” broke out in a popular commercial district in the city centre.

Russian state media reports that Antifa activists organized the street protest and “violently assaulted ordinary civilians” on their way to work. Antifa members have admitted they organized the protest to protest “Russian hacking” and attacked civilians “because they were Russian” and therefore “responsible for helping elect Trump.“

Patriotism Is A Two-Edged Sword — Paul Craig Roberts

On the Russian and Chinese side what can be done is a tri-party mutual defense pact between Russia, Iran, and China that is made public. This would tell the psychopaths in Washington and Israel that an attack on Iran means World War III. If this is not a deterrent, then Washington and Israel are lost to evil, and life on earth is ended.

If North Korea Fires an ICBM, the US Might Have to Shoot It Down Over Russia

Missile-defense physics may require interceptors to fly into ‘the teeth of the Russian early warning net.’

If Pyongyang fires a missile at the United States, its most-likely trajectory would take it over the North Pole. A U.S. attempt to shoot down that missile would probably occur within Russian radar space — and possibly over Russia itself. “It’s something we’re aware of,” Gen. Lori Robinson, who leads both U.S. Northern Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, said Wednesday. “It’s something we work our way through.”

By year’s end, the U.S. will have deployed 44 ground-based interceptors, or GBIs: 40 at Fort Greeley, Alaska, and four at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. If deterrence fails, those interceptors would be the last line of defense against a North Korean missile. Each incoming ICBM might be met with four or more GBIs.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Can someone please tell me, with an absolutely straight face, how such a missile strike is NOT going to be perceived as an act of war against Russia instead?!?

The Prof's math calcs may be "surgically correct"; but the potential optics, and intimations of a US generated war against Russia with such a stunt; holy crud and a half!!
